→ In mathematics, Vladimir Galatenko has obtained a number of results on expansions with respect to redundant systems – orthorecursive expansions with respect to fixed systems, greedy expansions. In particular, he has obtained results on absolute stability of such expansions when the computational errors in the coefficients from a wide class are possible (link, link): it turns out that even with rather large errors such expansions converge exactly to the decomposed element.
→ Currently, Vladimir Galatenko conducts research on convergence almost everywhere of orthorecursive expansions in systems of translates and dilates (link), and also takes part in the investigation of greedy expansions with fixed coefficients (link).
→ In addition to research in fundamental mathematics, Vladimir Galatenko actively takes part in applied research. Here he mainly focuses on the problems from bioinformatics (link, link, etc.). However, attention is also paid to the applied problems from other areas – for example, the automated analysis of medical tactile instrumental images (link).
→ Vladimir Galatenko conducted seminars and lectures on mathematical analysis for students of first and second year of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at MSU; he also was a lecturer of different special courses, in particular, on orthorecursive and greedy expansions in Hilbert spaces.
→ He is a co-head of special seminars and an advisor of students and PhD students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at MSU.
